Hey, you! Welcome to the 5th edition of the Berlin New Stand-Up Award!
We’re happy to report that Berlin’s stand-up comedy scene in English is bursting at all funny seams! Wow!

With a record number of more than 100 up-and-coming comedians taking part, this year’s Berlin New Stand-Up Award is going to really be the fiercest, funniest and exciting competition so far! Come watch the finest fresh new faces from all around Germany work their guts out for the promise of eternal glory, monumental fame and 1000 EUR!

You, the audience, have the power! You decide which top 2 contestants made you laugh the hardest and will go through to the semi-finals!

— HEADLINER –

Anshita Koul (IND)
Anshita is a Berlin based, internationally touring standup comedian from India. They are also the co-founder of Clit Comedy Club and Festrogen Comedy Festival in Luxembourg. When she is not touring, she is performing, hosting and producing comedy shows in Berlin under the brand Comedy Bazaar Berlin and BIPOC/Queer Comedy Lineup at Tipsy Bear Berlin.
They also teach virtual and in-person joke writing workshops for individuals and organizations. Anshita made her debut in the standup world from the Indian reality TV show Queens of Comedy in 2017 and they were also seen opening the Funny Women Stage Awards 2022 in the UK, as the only comedian from Europe who made it to the finals.
Anshita is currently on tour with their solo hour LITTLE TOO MUCH that they recently performed at Copenhagen Pride Stage as well as working on her new WIP show – It’s A Girl.

Moe Singleton

Moe Singleton, a talented comedian hailing from Cleveland. Moe kickstarted his career in Richmond, VA before making his way to the vibrant comedy scene of Brooklyn, New York. There, he had the opportunity to perform in renowned comedy clubs and even opened for esteemed comedians like Roy Woods Jr., Monroe Martin, Josh Johnson, and Alonzo Bodden. Now he’s based in Berlin and performing throughout Europe.
